Austin is mostly as described in the supplement Night Music, but it was greatly affected by the events of GBT.

Druiel, the Angel of Teenaged Death, was stripped of his Word by the Seraphim Council.

Furfur, a Renegade Calabite of Fire, succeeded in summoning Lucifer, and when asked for the Word of Rock 'n Roll, was instead made the Prince of Hardcore.

The investigation that Archangel Dominic launched revealed that the angels in Austin had been lulled into complacency. While they had not been completely ineffective at their jobs, diabolical plots were running unchecked throughout the city. In Dominic's judgment, their foolish, careless toleration for demons had contributed to the near-Fall of a Word-bound Seraph, and helped promote the rise of a new Demon Prince.

The fallout was not pleasant, and many Archangels were embarrassed. Tomas, the Angel of Catchy Tunes, was dragged back to Heaven for trial. Dominic demanded that almost all angels in Austin be transferred elsewhere and replaced with more reliable, militant Servitors. While he could not force every other Archangel to comply, most did. Even Novalis was chagrined at how her own Servitors had been taken advantage of.

The treaty that existed in Austin, due to the effects of the Treaty Oak Tether, has ended. The Old Guy gleefully led a campaign to purge the city of known demons, using all the information he had gathered during his years of playing an oblivious, brain-damaged Virtue. Most of the demons who had been rubbing shoulders with angels were sent to Trauma. A Tether to Drugs was destroyed, and a sorcerous coven was wiped out. Demons are still active in Austin, but there is no more peace.
