Ben is a precocious 17 year-old who swore a pact to Hatiphas, the Demon of Sorcery, along with his coven of high school and college friends in Austin, TX. After discovering he'd been deceived about the nature of the pact, he summoned KyaraSilverthorn to get advice on how to break the pact. Kyara then manipulated him into becoming her pawn and lover.

Together, they ran away to Dallas, where Ben is still studying sorcery, hoping to learn enough to summon and master Hatiphas so that he can save himself from damnation.
