Kyara Silverthorn, Unseelie

Kyara Silverthorn, an elven girl, was the favourite of the Unseelie Lord Osric Gwyrddion for a long time before Uriel's crusade. She had been his servant from a young age on, but turned into his companion and lover as her skills –magical and otherwise- increased and deepened.

When most of the Unseelie court was forced to flee deeper into the marches, Lord Gwyrddion took advantage of the chaotic situation and slowly wormed his way into the confidence of the court's King, who had lost several of his advisors and lieutenants to the angels of Purity. Gwyrddion was overly ambitious and planned to replace the king.

The Unseelie King, however, had been warned of Gwyrddions plans. The punishment for the traitor was to be sent into slavery under Beleth. Somehow, Gwyrddion found out about his impending doom and tricked the ignorant Kyara into taking on his shape – he told her he needed an alibi while pursuing some secret mission.

In truth, he went into hiding and Kyara was taken in his place. Her protests went unheard and she was too confused and frightened to be able to shed the mask and show her true shape.

Kyara ended up in the Country of the Teind. Most of the time spent there is a dark blur she wants to keep forgotten, but she managed not only to survive but also to gather power. She had been betrayed but now she quickly learned to betray, to trick and twist and lie, to manipulate. She grew cold and devious, secretly wishing she could return home to Arcadia, but she managed to manipulate her own emotions most of the time.

She learned about changes in the Earthworld through visits into the dreamscapes of mortals and grew curious. Back before the crusade, they, the Unseelie, had been the masters of the mortal folk. And it seemed as if the Earthworld had more and more interesting things to offer as the time passed. Kyara knew that she could have everything and everyone she wanted, if just given the chance. But she did not really have business there and was much to careful to try and sneak out of Beleth's domains.

Then an unforeseen thing happened – something or someone called her into the Earthworld...
