Seraph Vassal of Trade

Role: "Rashid Ali", TSA Manager

Rashael is Marc's senior angel in the Metroplex. With his Role as Transportation Security Administration manager at DallasFortWorthAirport, he can help angels sneak things through security, while making traversing the airport a nightmare for diabolicals.

He's very businesslike and for the most part, is a very stereotypical Seraph; perfectionist, demanding, intolerant of deceit, and relentlessly honest. "Rashid Ali" is Palestinian. Neither Marc nor Rashael were trying to make a particular statement by developing an Arabic Role into a TSA manager. Rashael's first mission on Earth was trying to promote Trade in Palestine, but after he was sent to Trauma in a car-bombing, Marc decided to reassign him to the U.S., giving him a vessel and background he'd be familiar with. However, his experience in the Middle East (he considers it a failed mission, though Marc did not hold it against him) has made Rashael even less sociable with mortals.

Rashael is assisted at the airport by Kadziena, the Reliever Durin, and several mortals who also work either for TSA or for the airport. None of them are Soldiers or Symphonically Aware, and only a couple know the entire truth about the War, but they trust Rashid and know he serves God.

As Rashid, he usually works 60 to 80-hour weeks at the airport, and makes sure that whenever he is not there, Kadziena is. When not on duty in his Role, he stays in his small apartment and monitors CNN and the Internet. Very occasionally, he ventures into Dallas to speak with other angels, but he is almost as uncomfortable as Kadziena with being too far from the airport.
