Superiors in Dallas

Dallas is dominated by the militant factions on both sides. The most powerful Princes in Dallas are Malphas and Asmodeus, while Nybbas and Vapula both have minor presences. On Heaven's side, the dominant Archangels are David and Laurence, with Michael and Jean also playing a significant role. Marc and Dominic both have a presence here as well. Superiors other than those above have no major interests in Dallas and have at most a couple of Servitors in the area.

Naming Superiors

Angels dislike referring to Demon Princes by name. This is based in part on the ancient superstition that a Superior can hear his name being spoken (which may in fact be true for some Superiors...). But angels in particular believe that Princes of Hell pervert the Symphony with their very presence, and that to name them is to spread their corruption. Thus, angels will say "Technology" or "The Prince of Technology" rather than "Vapula."

Not all angels observe this superstition; some think it invests Demon Princes with more dread than they deserve. But it is still gauche to speak a Demon Prince's name aloud in angelic society.

Demons sometimes refrain from naming Archangels for the same reason, but someone (some say Asmodeus, some say Kobal) disliked this excessive fear of the Host, and began having his minions mock those demons who observed this superstition. Thus, it is considered a sign of bravado among demons to refer to Archangels by name, and those who don't may be mocked for their cowardice.

Celestial Demographics

At a rough estimate, there are approximately 60-70 celestials in the Metroplex area (probably about 20 in Dallas itself); as in most places, demons outnumber angels. The number of human minions is high in Dallas, to make up for the relatively low celestial ratio. There are probably about 2 Soldiers for every celestial in Dallas, and probably 2-3 "mundane" servants for every Soldier. Thus, the total number of "aware" participants in the War in DFW may be over 500, or slightly more than 1 per 8000 mundanes.

(Note that non-Soldier servants aren't necessarily completely aware of the War; in many cases, they have a vague or mistaken idea of what they are doing and who they are serving, particularly for those serving the infernal side.)

The figures below are estimated numbers for the entire Dallas/Fort Worth area, not just the city of Dallas. These are "best guesses" by each side, based on known Servitors and observed activities, and not necessarily accurate! Both sides value highly any intelligence that gives them a better idea of celestial forces.

Other Superiors

The Superiors listed above are the major Superiors listed in the In Nomine rulebook. Other Superiors exist, but are generally less influential and have far fewer Servitors than those above. Most of them, because they are out of favor, hold less influential Words, or are relative newcomers, have only a few hundred Servitors worldwide, if that. None are known to have any Servitors in Dallas, though no doubt some do visit the Metroplex from time to time. (Note that Player Characters can serve one of these Superiors.)

Lost and Dead Superiors

There have been other Superiors through the ages. There were once GrigoriArchangels, and there are DeadSuperiors whose former Servitors might still retain some of their attunements.
