Soldier of God

In service to the Sword

Wendell Granger is the #2 Soldier of God in the Metroplex (at least among the militants who recognize the Sword's chain of command). A Vietnam vet, he became Symphonically aware while in 'Nam, but didn't realize what had happened to him until he returned to his hometown of Rowlett. He now usually acts as Iealo's sergeant major, and relays orders to other Soldiers of the Sword.

Wendell grew up as a Methodist. Having served many years with the Sword, he's gained an appreciation for the Roman Catholic Church and frequently attends Catholic services, but he has never joined the Church.

He married soon after he returned from Vietnam, but his wife didn't understand the mission he embarked upon when he became a Soldier of God, and Wendell really didn't try too hard to hold the marriage together, fearing that his wife would eventually be exposed to danger. They did have one son, who now lives in Chicago and is unaware of the War.
